Phone Virus Hoax

All mobile users pay attention.

All mobile users pay attention if you receive a phone call and your mobile phone displays (XALAN) on the screen don't answer the call, END THE CALL IMMEDIATELY , if you answer the call, your phone will be infected by a virus.

This virus will erase all IMEI and IMSI information from both your phone and your SIM card, which will make your phone unable to connect with the telephone network. You will have to buy a new phone.

This information has been confirmed by both Motorola and Nokia . There are over 3 Million mobile phones being infected by his virus in all around the world now. You can also check this news in the CNN web site.

A hoax after all. Don't believe me? Read out these URL:
*1* From Trend Micro
*2* From Sophos
*3* from TechNewsWorld
*4* From F-Secure

A piece of advice. Do not believe something you aren't so sure. And stop forwarding people rubbish emails :p

Semoga diambil iktibar.

Great Innovation

Sit back and relax while enjoying a quick tour on the most wonderful operating system I ever experience, Mac OS X.

Happy Birthday

It all went well yesterday. She and her friends had a wonderful time after midnight - birthday wishes, chocolate cake, presents and me :p

I arrived near her hostel an hour after midnight. I called her to look out of the window. She was a bit shocked i guess hehe. We're chatted for nearly an hour, although she really up to something that time - some presentation preparation for the next day. Sorry dear.

That evening as promised, we ate dinner together with my sister. I didn't really talked a lot. I don't know why. I'm not sure. She really strucked my heart. So deep that I could melt if I were a chocolate. And then I started to fear, if I'm not the right man who can truly fits her.

If you read this my dear, happy belated birthday. May Allah protect you wherever you are and give you happiness you desire. Sorry for my previous mistakes. Whatever happens between us, hope our friendship last. Take care.

Dunia Bukan Tempat Yang Selamat Lagi

Tempat kerja aku ni boleh dikatakan sama dengan Los Angeles(Bidadari Yang Hilang) la. Kalau kau tiap-tiap pagi buta macam dua tiga pagi kau jalan-jalan area aku selama sebulan, ajaib la kalau tak kena samun. Kalau tak kena tetak tu dah kira panjang umur lah tu.

Dah lama dah aku jadi pelanggan tetap dia. Sebab kedai mamak lain jauh. Hampir tiap-tiap hari dapat diskaun. Aku pernah tanya pakcik tak takut ke masih buka kedai 24 jam, dia boleh selamba ja cakap, "saya dah biasa dah kena tetak tetak ni". Hah! Kalau nak buka kedai Seven Eleven kat area aku, kena biasa-biasakan lah diri kena tetak.

Rakan pejabat aku kena samun lari dekat kedai mamak tu la. Dah kejar dah! Dah dapat tangkap dah pun! Sekali member dia datang keluar pedang setiawan daa, lebih kurang macam pedang samurai. Nak buat macam mana weh.

Ni malam ni, dua tiga kali kereta wira dengan perdana lalu depan pejabat aku. Aku tengah nak masukkan motor masa tu. Dia orang asyik tuding-tuding jari. Ramai mamat dalam tu. Aku cuak sikit je ar tapi dalam otak ni prepare dah macam-macam. Sebab tu lah aku tulis blog ini.

Kita tak tahu hari kita macam mana nanti because world isn't a safe place anymore. Be prepared. Think steps ahead. Predict the worst. Fear gives power.

Morning!

I'm so tired last night. Yesterday I roamed around KL for unintended reasons, had lunch with friends at HKL. But most of the time I spent on the road, straining my neck. It's because the rain pouring down all day in KL. One hour I had to stay and walk around KLCC and the other hour I had to sit and I'tikaf at the mosque. No place to go. OK, that's all buddy. Gotta get home!

Pffft...

After 95 minutes match between England and Sweden that ends with a 2-2 draw, something sick happened. Imam Ali burnt smoke filled the air(Apa kejadah punya upacara!). It's like a fist size of wood which is burned with smoke coming out of it . Then he walked around with that thing and I found out that the stink smell sticked to my jacket and ain't disappear! Pffft...(Picture of Imam Ali and his employee from Utusan after being robbed last April)

Thoughts at 12 Midnight

Just arrived at the office, the Security Operation Center, where less CPU with more LCD screens. But then, I only use one keyboard and a mouse to navigate all computers. Can you imagine? Well, that is because I install Synergy on each computer that enables me to control multiple computers with one set of input devices. One ring to rule them all..

Well last time, to get to my office took one(long & boring) hour on my dad's Honda C70 equipped with C4 explosion device(nah, that's crap).Sungei Buloh(glamourous as Sungei Wang) and Cheras is damn far, but now..things changed. Last two weeks I bought a Yamaha 135LC(green colour) and it really rocks especially the engine - quiet, steady & powerful. It took me less than 30 minutes tonight to get(here) with top speed at 160kmh - still steady. Not to worry, I just changed the engine oil yesterday :-p Maybe with a lil bit of modification later, it'll go faster.

This Friday is her birthday, the one God's creation that sits in my heart for more than three years. This year I'm going to give my best, like mom's and dad's, I really want her to enjoy. Take her day off since she is now busy in O&G(sakitpuan) posting - clinical year is her busiest year yet(we have less conversation, less sms and no lunch/dinner together :( A bouquet of flowers and a birthday cake and friends would be enough, i think. Wish me luck.

Another 2 hours, England will be slain by Sweden haha. Not that I'm against England, but I damn hate at how they play especially their slow attacking play. England is one example that shows all stars team will not promise anything :p I'm hoping for an enjoyable game soon.

TMNut Screamyx

With applications such as video streaming, large file downloads, online games and video conferencing fast becoming the norms, Internet users are increasingly looking for faster connection to the internet. Tmnet streamyx brings the web's rich multimedia content to life, at speed from 512Kbps up to 2Mbps which is much faster than the ordinary Internet connection. - TMNet Streamyx
"Pffft laa.." Internet speed is crawling damn slow lately and the internet penetration rate at developing areas are small. TMNet should aggresively solve the issue.

MY HOUSE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A PHONE LINE!!!

Remove Brontok

Yesterday, I went to One Utama with my sister to watched X-Men. I brought two tickets a day before and so did not even worried about being late. On the way there, the rain started to pour. Hmm.. We arrived at the complex half wet and cold. And we thought we were late because the movie should starts at 2:50pm, and my clock showed five minutes late, but as we entered the cinema the screen was still showing ads. Overall it was a great and exciting movie that we forgot how wet and cold we were! :D

Sorry, I should be writing about Brontok, Heh. (some call Rontokbro) This annoying virus has long being one of my concerns but since quite number of people have SMS me asking solution(including somebody yesterday), I decided to tell a simple one here:

*1* Use a removal tool from Kaspersky Lab. ***

*2* I have one from Indonesia.

*3* For advance people who have more time to waste :p refer Syman_tec's removal instructions.

Use AVG or Kaspersky as our antivirus software. As for me, I don't prefer commercial ones like McAfee or Norton. But you can use them if you want to.

Read: Brontok creates application in each folder and rename it using the name of the folder it is located in. Then it masks the application with a folder icon. For example. Your folder name "Homework" will contain a file, which a person may sees it also as a folder name "Homework". If the person mistakenly double-click the application, Brontok will affect user's Windows.

IF YOU DON't HAVE ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE and want to be cautious, for Windows' just use search and search the place for example, your pen-drive/thumbdrive with *.exe string. This will search whole computer or certain place(if you specify) for all files with filename that ends with dot exe such as hello.exe, world.exe or sucks.exe. (same if you want to search all Micro_soft Word document files - *.doc). After you get the results, sort them by size. The 'folder-camouflaged' files are usually 42KB in size and you can delete them all. Remember only to delete 'folder-camouflaged' files.

Solutions to overcome viruses are easily obtain nowaday. Use google.

Apple.

There are an increasing amount of people who got a MacBook Pro recently especially people in MyOSS. This makes me truly jealous. I got my Powerbook G4 two years ago and within that period of time, Apple decided to go with Intel. Should I feel regret? For some reason, yes, and for some, no. Yesterday, I've watched Steven Jobs' keynote on Mac World San Francisco 2006 and it's really driving me crazy until now. Their products are awesome and they have really wonderful out-of-the-box software. You should watch it. Watch this Intel ad too :) From my own experience using all kinds of computers, sofware and operating system, Apple has the best products I ever known and truly worth the price.

The Need for Speed.

This is the earliest morning for Elsie. I had to send my father to the McDonald's at Gombak, the one at the petrol station beside the highway to UIA. From Sg.Buloh to Gombak only took not more than 20 minutes. My father's weight worried me a bit but as expected, Elsie did his job tremendously reaching 130 km/h. I believe Elsie can fly faster because I pulled only half throttle this morning and I really doubt Elsie's tyres can perform safely on the road. I bet I will replace them sooner.

Yogyakarta.

At the end of last May, I went to Yogyakarta. The earthquake happened at the time I'm on the 7am flight to Solo. After arrival, I have to wait nearly 3 hours for the bus from Yogyakarta to come. At Yogya, the hotel I was about to stay has lots of cracks on the wall and it's everywhere. So I stayed on a house like hotel located at the heart of the city. The first day wasn't like a holiday at all. Everybody is worried because the evening news that night estimated that there would be a much stronger earthquake coming. But I stayed. Nothing happened. The next morning I went to Borobudur Temple for sight-seeing. It's great. The carvings that tell the story about Buddha is still clear after 1300 years. The next day I spent the whole time shopping and eating. There are many quality goods at a very cheap price. What dissatisfied me is I didn't have enough time to shop. Anyway, next stop is Bandung! Hehe. Indonesia is a country to shop :p

Security analyst

Earlier, when people asked about my occupation, they always thought that I work for a real security company with armored van and guards with guns who protect shops or ATM machines in banks. That is different.

I protect clients' computer network. If you're working in a company(mostly big companies) which uses computers that are connected together and able to access the internet, there are people who are protecting the network for you. Bear in mind that the Internet is not a safe 'place' to be. Viruses, malware, adware or spyware may infect your computer directly or indirectly.

Ignore the details on how they're doing it. Just want to let you know that the security analysts(and skilled mischievous people) are monitoring what you are doing on the internet - emails, instant messaging, surfing etc. - which means they sees the information. Except for passwords which are sent in encrypted form.

If you want to encrypt your outgoing message in your Instant Messenger, let say Yahoo Messenger, Windows' users can use Simp Lite (here). It is also available for MSN Messenger, ICQ/AIM and Google Talk.

There is also methods to encrypt web based email such as Gmail but that I will simplify it later here.

Sebuk

Semalam Korea menang Togo 2-1. Ceruk mana lah negara Togo ni ye. Aku pun tak pernah dengar. Mula-mula Togo lah yang score. Terus aku fikir diorang ni mesti 'underdog'. Tapi akhirnya Korea jugak lah yang 'under-underdog'. Selepas Japan kecundang, Korea aje lah harapan orang-orang Asia macam kita ni :-p Jadi, above all, GO KOREA! ARASSO!
